Have you ever wished you knew more about weather? Would you like a glimpse into the world of a meteorologist? Would you like to help and assist the National Weather Service in reporting weather and events from your neighborhood?

On behalf of Rush County Emergency Management Agency, Rush County CERT and Rush County Storm Spotters, we would like to invite you to an excellent opportunity to learn more about the weather. We live in Indiana and the weather changes daily! Learn the different types of clouds, the difference between a shelf cloud and a wall cloud, the difference between straight-line winds and a tornado, and many other weather-aware facts at this great educational and FREE opportunity.

This year’s training also coincides with this being the 10 year anniversary of the Moscow Tornado.

This course covers the basics of being a SKYWARN Spotter. The goal of the course is to provide baseline training for all spotters covering the procedures for spotting (including communication and spotter report criteria) and safety considerations for all hazards.

Location: Rush County Courthouse Assembly Room, 101 E 2nd Street, Rushville, IN

Parking: South side of the building.
Start Time: 6:30pm
