RIDE RUSH PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
INFORMATION ON RIDE RUSH PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Ride Rush is for all citizens of Rush County. Riders must call before 4:30 pm the day before they want to be picked up. Ride Rush operates Tuesday thru Friday 7 am to 5 pm. The charge is $2.00 per stop for anyone from ages 5 to 59 years old. Children (under 5 years old) are $1.00 per stop and are required to be in car seat that the parents provide and must take off the vehicle with them at each stop. Riders (60 and over) it’s strongly suggested to provide donation of $1.50 per stop. There is a limit of 5 bags per person and must be able to carry their things on and off vehicle. Drivers ARE NOT ALLOWED to enter homes or businesses to get the passenger. The driver will wait up to 4 minutes for clients to appear for pick up. They do have handicap accessible vehicles.
Although we strongly encourage local residents to investigate all other local options first, (please “like” the Rush County Chamber page for more information), we do understand that there are some items that may not be provided short-term, and some people who have expressed a need for access to discount stores that provide the lowest price to make their individual budget work.
As a result, the Senior Center / Ride Rush is providing the following program. Once a week, every Thursday, Ride Rush will transport people to the Greensburg WalMart Shopping Center. This service will begin Thursday, March 8th. The bus will leave Rushville at 10:00 am and return around 1:00 pm. You must call 24 hours in advance and the price is $6.00 round trip. Please call 765-932-2935 to book your reservation or for any other questions you may have. Again, we ask that all of our residents try to stay local as much as possible. That solution is the best for our long-term success, but this program may fill the gap for some who need it during this short-term challenge.
