Come join us on Friday, April 20th for our 2nd Blood Drive!
The Indiana Blood mobile will be at Fraley & Schilling located at 1920 South State Road 3 from 11:00am – 3:00pm and we want you to be there as well! Donating blood will give you the opportunity to save a life! You never know when that full circle could come back around. There’s no better time than the present and there’s no better present than life! Here is the link to sign up!
April is Donate Life Month
April is Donate Life Month – honoring those who made the selfless decision to save and enhance lives as organ, tissue, eye, and blood donors. Additionally, Donate Life Month is a time to celebrate the new beginnings donation provides for recipients, recognize the lives of those waiting for life-saving blood transfusions and inspire more people to say yes to donation. Hospital patients are always in need of blood. There are several ways you can participate in Donate Life Month! You can register to be an organ donor at www.indianadonornetwork.org. You can also head over to any Indiana Blood Center donor center or mobile drive and donate.
National Volunteer Week: April 15-21
April 15-21 is National Volunteer Week. This week is dedicated to honoring all of the volunteers in our communities as well as encouraging volunteerism throughout the month. We are thankful for volunteer blood donors like Jim May, who has donated 355 times and counting. If it wasn’t for our volunteer blood donors at Indiana Blood Center, our Indiana hospital patients wouldn’t have a second chance at life. Listen to Jim’s story here.
With Spring Comes New Life
Spring Break is officially here! However, unfortunately, hospital patients don’t get a break. Did you know 33% of our blood supply each year comes from education based drives? Therefore, it’s important to remember that with high schools and colleges not in session, blood is still needed to help those hospital patients. Make sure you get your spring appointment on the books!
